Matthew Smith of Brookhaven, MS with an elk he shot in Idaho on September 27, 2003, at 15 yards.  The bull was running 10 cows.

He missed on this same elk 4 days earlier, but was able to catch back up with it for a second chance.

After bow-hunting these animals for 3 weeks, he still prefers the southern white-tail.  Guess you can take the man out of the South, but you can't take the South out of the man.
