Ron Grasmick (right) of Granada, CO is pictured with large mule deer he took October 27, 2003, with a Swedish 6.5 X 55 caliber.  The deer was taken in a milo field about 15 miles from his home. It took three men to load him and they estimated the weight at 350 lbs.  But you know how hunters and fishermen are!!!

These  deer live on the prairie and small dry creeks, and feed on this grain & green winter wheat, almost like beef.

Pictured with Ron is a Mexican laborer. He also lives here in Granada and helps Ron's cousins & brother during the summer.  Ron donated the meat to his family, as all they have to eat in the winter is beans and tortillas. They were very grateful.

How about that skinning rack!!
