These are the bucks taken at the Gollott family's Willow Run property for the 2010/2011 hunting season.  The family was especially proud of Lakin Gollott who took his first buck, a very nice and mature 8 point.  Lakin is pictured both where he took the deer and he is pictured with his dad, Ben, who was with him at the time.  Ben said Lakin did everything just as he had been taught and took the animal like an experienced hunter.  Lakin has been a very successful hunter, doing his part in management with the Doe population.  He took several Does last season, a few more this season as well.  Lakin's buck was taken December 26 with a 243 Winchester at about 80 yards and no tracking was necessary! The other deer pictured was one taken by Arny Jr who is Lakin's uncle and Ben's brother.  The deer is pictured live just 3 days before harvest a full half mile away on the property.  He is a 10 pointer, he is a main frame 8 point with a kicker on one G2 and a split G2 on the other side.  He was taken on December 20 and taken on the same field that Lakin took his buck on 6 days later!  Arny, Jr took the 10 point at about 90 yards with his 300 WSM and no tracking was necessary!
