Kenny Williams of Vicksburg caught this alligator gar with a commercial net while fishing Chotard Lake, Issaquena County on Valentine's Day.

327 pounds. Biologists measured it at 8 feet, 5 1/8 inches long, and 47 inches around.

The current International Game Fish Association  record belongs to a 279 pounder pulled from the Rio Grande in TX in 1951.

Williams donated the catch to the MS Museum of  Natural Science where it will be mounted and placed on display.
